helpful hint for pressing seam rows

I would love to share this hint with all of you. When I have pieced all of my quilt blocks and arranged them in rows I label the 1st block in each row with a number starting with the number 1,2,3 and so on. I then sew the blocks in each row together. When I have finished sewing the blocks into a row and I am ready to press I press all the odd numbered rows to the left and all the even numbered rows to the right. This works great for me and I hope it will be of value to you. I use the Avery 1/2" by 3/4" white labels. They stick well to the cotton fabrics and do not leave a residue when they are removed.

I've always pressed to "the dark side"or however the author suggested. Right now I'm experimenting with strip piecing a "Trip Around the World" and I'm going to use your method to keep myself on track. I love this idea.
